Condensation humidity

What is condensation moisture ?

Steam on the windows, mold in the corners of your walls and ceilings, tapestries peeling off, unpleasant lingering odors, damage to wooden window frames, etc.

In the past, air circulated naturally in dwellings that were poorly insulated and not very airtight. Insulation of homes has made a lot of progress today. However, it unfortunately created an airtight space, poor air recycling and therefore an environment favoring the formation of condensation moisture.

What are the consequences of this humidity?

The condensation moisture problem should not be taken lightly. Excess moisture causes aesthetic and internal damage to your home:

  • Molds in the corners of walls and ceilings
  • Wallpaper peeling
  • Degradation of wooden joinery such as windows and furniture

This excess humidity does not only affect your home, it also affects your environment, your health and that of your loved ones:

  • Unpleasant odors of humidity
  • Mold and fungus formation in living rooms and bedrooms
  • Coming of pests in your home

The consequences of humidity (mold, condensation, mites, etc.) produce allergens that promote allergies and other respiratory problems such as asthma.

Where does this moisture come from ?

The humidity in your home comes mainly from humans and their activities. You should know that we release a certain amount of humidity every day. Indeed, we breathe, sweat and perform various household tasks such as cooking, showering or cleaning and washing. Animals also function like humans and generate moisture.

All of these activities release water vapor into the air. This is several liters per day per person. This water vapor contained in hot air will condense on contact with a cold surface and transform into water droplets.

This humidity can be accentuated due to a problem of capillary rise. Wet and cold walls make it easier for water vapor to condense.

The solution: Mechanical Ventilation by Insufflation (VMI)

The VMI®process is a ventilation system based on the principle of insufflation. This technique removes fresh outdoor air from a single point, filters its pollutants (fine particles, pollens, Volatile Organic Compounds or VOCs, CO2, etc.) then breathes this healthy and clean air into one or more points in the house.

The blown air sweeps the living rooms and wet spaces to circulate the air throughout the house. This air will then escape naturally through the air vents. The overpressure allows the evacuation of indoor pollutants (humidity, CO2 and VOCs) and prevents the rise of radon.

The software embedded in Mechanical Ventilation by Insufflation manages the measurement of temperature and humidity parameters and modulates the flow of fresh air accordingly. Air renewal is essential and super important for the health and well-being of your whole family and your home.

Bring new air with Mechanical Insufflation Ventilation in your home to :

  • Eliminate excess moisture and condensation in all the house
  • Evacuate bad odors and internal pollutants
  • Meeting oxygen needs
  • Filter external pollution
  • Suppress radon stagnation
